On Monday, Year 5 visited a Gurdwara in Southall as a part of their learning about Guru Nanak. We had a tour of the Gurdwara, walking through the langar and listening to singing and drumming in the main hall. We were also given a talk all about Sikhism and the children asked questions about the similarities and differences with other religions. The children were commended for their respectful attitudes and exemplary behaviour, and it was a great day out.
On Thursday this week, nine Year 5 and 6 students headed to Heathland School for an exciting netball tournament. The girls showed incredible versatility as they rotated positions throughout each round, gaining valuable experience across the court. The team performed impressively in the group stages, finishing at the top of their group with two wins and one draw. They then moved on to a challenging quarter-final match, where their determination paid off with a hard-fought 1-0 victory, advancing them to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, they faced another tough opponent. Despite showing fantastic skill and team spirit, the team lost 1-0. This defeat, however, didnāt dampen their spirits as they secured third place overall out of 18 schools in Hounslow. It was a brilliant result for Belmontās netball team, marking an afternoon full of fun and memorable moments - even in the rain!
